I am Claudia and I have always been passionate about beautiful fabrics. My best friend at the time, with whom I did many sewing projects, became a fashion designer while I was drawn to the field of art where I worked for the last 30 years promoting art and photography.
Reconnecting
Now that the technical process of printing fabrics is available to small businesses as well, I really enjoy to create my own collections and work as an artist myself. I am happy to be able to work with a small family company in Como, Italy.
Inspiration
Apart from Nature and Fine Art my designs are mainly inspired by the vibrancy of african wax prints and japanese vintage kimonos.
The brand's name ›Inikhé‹ means ›Thank you‹ in the Mande languages spoken in West Africa.
It all started with a dress...
I was already experimenting with digital printing in 2016. When I was invited to a wedding in Paris, I decided to fully embrace it. I designed, produced and wore this incredible evening dress. The experience felt like an initiation and from then on I followed my passion.
